How should I measure my coffee?
Finding the perfect coffee ratio can be a bit of a personal journey—everyone has their own idea of what a "perfect cup" means. Standard cups are 8oz, but most mugs you use are usually around 12oz or 16oz. Here’s a simple guideline to get you started:
- Minnesota Lite: 1 - 1 1/4 tablespoons per 8oz of water.
- Minnesota Nice: 1 1/4 - 2 tablespoons per 8oz of water.
- Minnesota Strong: 2-3 tablespoons per 8oz of water. (If your spoon stands up in your mug, you might have gone a bit too far!)
Play around with these ratios until you find your perfect brew!
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards for online orders. For in-person purchases, we gladly accept credit cards, cash, and even Venmo. Please note, we currently do not accept PayPal.
How do you store cold brew concentrate?
Keep your cold brew concentrate in the fridge for best results. If it’s unopened, you can store it in a cool, dark place for a short time.
What if my cold brew concentrate freezes?
No worries! Simply defrost it slowly in the refrigerator for the best flavor.
How long can I keep cold brew concentrate in the fridge?
It’s at its smoothest for 3-4 weeks. After that, it still makes delicious drinks, just a little less smooth.
How is coffee decaffeinated?
We take pride in our decaffeinated coffees. All of our decaf beans are processed using the water method, which ensures a smooth, clean cup. This method uses only water to remove caffeine. The beans are soaked in hot water to extract the caffeine and flavor compounds. The water is then passed through activated charcoal filters, which trap the caffeine.
This method is popular for those who prefer a chemical-free process.
What is single-origin coffee?
Single-origin coffee comes from one specific location—whether it’s a region, a farm, or a specific lot. This means each cup reflects the unique flavors of its origin, offering a distinct taste profile that tells the story of its place.
What is a coffee blend?
A coffee blend combines beans from multiple origins to create a unique flavor profile that highlights the best of each variety.
What is fair trade coffee?
Fair trade coffee ensures that the beans are sourced ethically, with farmers paid fairly for their work and provided with the support needed to improve their livelihoods. It’s about building better relationships and supporting sustainability.
What’s the role of the coffee roaster?
The coffee roaster is the heart of the flavor journey. By carefully selecting beans and roasting them to perfection, roasters bring out the coffee’s natural flavors, ensuring each cup is consistently delicious.
Light vs. Dark roast: What’s the difference?
Light roast coffee is lightly roasted to preserve its natural flavors, offering a bright, nuanced cup. Dark roast coffee has a bolder, smoky flavor due to longer roasting. Both are delicious, but they each offer something different!
How should I store my coffee beans?
To keep your coffee fresh, store beans in an airtight container at room temperature, away from sunlight and moisture. Avoid the fridge or freezer, as these can affect the flavor.
